Direct Express® is pleased to announce our new partnership with Fifth Third Bank. Fifth Third Bank will now replace Comerica Bank as the financial agent for the Direct Express® card. If you already have a card from Comerica, you can keep using it until you receive your new Fifth Third card.
The easiest way to tell who issued your card is to look at the card itself. If you have a Comerica card, you will find the Comerica logo on the front. If you have a Fifth Third card, you will find text on the back that reads, "This card is issued by Fifth Third Bank."
If you have a Comerica-issued card, you will still be able to log into the same online account until you receive a new Fifth Third-issued card. Click here or in the header. Select the first six card numbers that match yours, and you'll be taken to the correct login portal.
No. The new Direct Express® mobile app only works with the newly issued Fifth Third Bank cards.
If you have a Comerica card, your card works with the pre-existing app linked below. During the transition period, as we roll out new cards to all users, we will maintain the other version of the Direct Express® mobile app, ensuring your access remains uninterrupted. Yes. You will need to find the correct ATM for your card issuer. Fortunately, we make it simple to filter by bank on our Find an ATM page.
When your current Comerica card expires, you will receive a new Fifth Third-issued card. You do not need to take any action, and you will be notified before your new card arrives. In the meantime, your Comerica card will remain fully functional.
Yes, your new Fifth Third Bank Direct Express® card will work the same way as your current card. You'll still receive your federal benefits on the same schedule, and you can use it anywhere Debit Mastercard® is accepted. We are working to make registering, activating, and using your new card, website, and app as simple as possible for cardholders.
